After pickups we travel to Scarborough for our stay at the Boston Hotel.
After breakfast we travel to Whitby for free time to explore this traditional maritime town. Featuring historic cobbled streets, picturesque houses, and a sandy Blue Flag beach.

Steeped in history, there are many visitor attractions that are connected to the town's fascinating past, such as the Captain Cook Memorial Museum, where you can learn about the famous explorer's life in the port town.

Other things to do in Whitby include visiting the Dracula Experience on the seafront, where you can be guided through the story and learn about its connection to the town.

A trip to Whitby would not be the same without climbing the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey, counting as you go, and exploring the beautiful ruins which tower over the town.
After breakfast we leave the hotel and travel to Flamborough Head. This area is famous for its towering chalk cliffs, formed millions of years ago, providing breathtaking coastal views.
Flamborough Head is a prime location to see numerous seabirds, including one of England's largest sites for nesting sea birds, with famous colonies of gannets and puffins.

Flamborough Head is famous for its two lighthouses.
The old lighthouse, a Grade II listed building which has never been lit, was built in 1674 and is one of the oldest living examples of a lighthouse in the UK. Flamborough Lighthouse was inhabited for almost two hundred years but in 1996, automation meant that the lighthouse keepers were no longer needed. The light however is still active, guiding sea traffic to this very day.

The new – and currently working – Flamborough lighthouse was built in the early 19th century.

A short walk from the current lighthouse is the Flamborough fog signal station. Over the years, guns, rockets and trumpets have all been used to warn seafarers in foggy conditions, nowadays, an electric fog signal is used along with the lighthouse. If you take the stroll over, be careful as every 90 seconds – in low visibility, the station emits a powerful siren.

We then continue the short journey to the seaside resort of Bridlington for the afternoon.
In Bridlington there really is something for everyone, glorious clean beaches, independent shops, great entertainment and amazing nature. Bridlington’s Pre-Roman harbour and characterful Old Town are must-sees for any history buff, being home to the beautiful Augustinian Priory, Bayle Museum and Harbour Heritage Museum.

Day off today in Scarborough.

Discover the charm and beauty of Scarborough, a captivating seaside town nestled on the stunning North Yorkshire coastline. With two stunning beaches, North Bay and South Bay, you'll have plenty of space to relax and enjoy the coastal bliss.

Why not visit Scarborough Castle, perched high on the cliffs, and marvel at its medieval ruins while enjoying panoramic views of the coastline. Discover the Scarborough maritime Heritage Centre and delve into the town's maritime past through engaging exhibitions and interactive displays. Or head to Peasholm Park, a picturesque Japanese-themed park, and enjoy boat rides on the lake or watch thrilling naval battles during the summer months. The Sea Life Scarborough allows you to dive into the depths of the ocean, encountering fascinating marine creatures up close. Don't miss a visit to the Scarborough Fair Collection, home to vintage fairground rides and steam-powered engines that will transport you back in time.

We leave the hotel after breakfast and travel home.
